Interviewed by the Department of Informatics at the UiB

I was interviewed for the 'Meet people at II'-series of the Department of Informatics. The interview can be found here here.

NORBIS Summer School

I will be teaching part of the upcoming NORBIS summer school course on 'Communicating research by visualisation, illustration and storytelling' which will be held from August 28th to September 1st

I will be co-chairing EuroRV3, the 5th international EuroVis Workshop on Reproducibility, Verification, and Validation in Visualization, co-located with EuroVis in Barcelona this year

MedViz Image Contest 2016 winner

An image of PelVis, our VIS 2016 paper application, was one of the winners in the MedViz image contest 2016, that was awarded at the joint MedViz conference and Eurographics Workshop on Visual Computing for Biology and Medicine 2016. More information about our submission is available here

Interviewed by the TU Delft Graduate School

I was recently interviewed by the TU Delft Graduate School for the DE Magazine: Your Doctoral adventure, your story!. You can find the video that resulted from this interview here.

After working as a radiographer for three years, I studied Computer Science (Media and Knowledge Engineering track) at the TU Delft. From April 2012 I worked as a PhD candidate in the field of medical visualization at the TU Delft in collaboration with the Anatomy and Embryology department at the LUMC in Leiden. My research project was called The Virtual Surgical Pelvis and aimed to create a detailed 3D model of the pelvic area from heterogeneous anatomical data that can be used in education and pre-operative surgical planning. I am currently employed as an associate professor in medical visualization at the University of Bergen, Department of Informatics. I am a contributor at, the blog on all things medical visualization and also have my own blog.

This page only displays publications I have authored in my current affiliation. For a full overview, please check my Google Scholar profile.
