How to get there:
Drive the new tunnel road from the E-16 Hwy. in Nærøydalen to the small
farm community Jordalen. Immediately after exiting this tunnel, find parking
on the left side. This is near location N60.86710, E6.72508, elevation
about 415 meter.
Route description:
Walk back down to the tunnel and ascend
the slope on its right hand side as
seen when facing the tunnel opening. There are traces from other climbers,
move left as you ascend (you will cross above the tunnel). You will reach
a trail that traverses horizontally (near elevation 460 meter) higher up in this hillside.
Turn right and follow this trail to the summit. The trail is pretty rough and small,
it traverses, then climbs
more steeply to the col
that separates Jordalsnuten from
Vardanosi. Finally, ascend the peak from this col.
The highest point is located somewhat
before you reach the big cairn. Comments:
We had climbed Nåsafjellet and decided we had
time before dark to also visit this peak. The ascent took 1:10, we descended back down in one hour.
The trail is small, but easy to follow. The views from this peak are pretty good. When we were
there the valley was filled with fog, creating a very unique experience.
